The Law of Attraction is an idea that whatever you want can be attracted to you by simply thinking about it and focusing on it.
If you focus on being healthy and losing weight, the more you think about it, the more likelihood there is that you’ll begin adopting strategies and lifestyle changes that will bring that into your reality.
Many people have shown that they can attract things into their life using this technique, including love, money, health, prestige and more.
So how exactly does it work? What do you need to do attain what you want?
What Keeps Us From Achieving Our Dreams?
When we do have a dream or desire for something, why does it usually take us such a long time to achieve the dream? How come when we desire something we don’t simply acheive us?
There are people who that doesn’t happen to. Usually people call them crazy, but they’ll have these wild, crazy ideas – and then they’ll go do them.
But for the rest of us, what holds us back?
Usually limiting beliefs.
How Limiting Beliefs Paralyze You
A limiting belief is a belief that we tell ourselves about why we shouldn’t achieve something or why we don’t deserve something.
I’ll run you through a little exercise.
Let’s say you’re walking down the street and a friend drives by in brand new Mercedes.
What is your initial thought?
Most people usually have 1 of the following 2 things role through their minds:
- “Ech, how can they drive around in a car like that? They’re flaunting their wealth.
- That’s a really nice car, but people like me don’t drive cars like that.
Do you see what just happened there? Do you see the limiting beliefs?
The messages the person told themselves actually put into their mind a block that will keep them from ever achieving that end goal.
If they thought the person was flaunting their wealth, they subconsciously are saying: “That’s a really nice car, but people like me don’t drive that kind of car. Actually, I don’t really want to drive a car like that because if I did other people would look at me the same way I’m looking at this person.”
The 2nd scenario is much easier to understand: “I don’t really understand how it’s possible to make the kind of money required to own a car like that. I guess I’ll never know. I’m just dumb.”
Do you see what’s happening? The person in their own head is limiting their ability to accomplish something.
According to the Law of Attraction, anyone should be able to manifest anything they want. A person should see a goal they want to achieve and then jump into learning everything they need to achieve it.
But it’s these limiting beliefs that hold us back from ever even taking the first steps to achieving them.
How to Break Out of the Limiting Beliefs
I wrote a blog post at one point about EFT for Eyesight. One of the core things you do in EFT is address your limiting beliefs and work through them.
I actually wrote a script you can follow, but the basic things you ask your self are:
- Would anyone else in the world say that this belief is true?
- Would anyone say it’s not true?
- Has anyone with this seeming disability ever accomplished this goal?
- What’s the worst thing that could happen if I tried?
…and so on.
Basically what you’re doing is addressing these limiting beliefs and putting in place of them empowering beliefs.
“There is no reason I can’t accomplish this goal. I have everything I need to accomplish it.” <Objection arises> “…That doesn’t have to be my reality. I can accomplish this goal.”
How to Apply the Law of Attraction to Natural Vision Improvement
If we need to wear glasses, there’s usually a reason for it. And that reason is usually an emotional reason.
Addressing those emotions is a first step you can take to improving your vision.
As an example, Dr. Jacob Liberman explains in one of his books, that an emotional trauma in our childhood can result in poor vision. A child will begin to develop poor eyesight as a result of the trauma to avoid “seeing” the trauma. As they get older the trauma might have passed, but they’re still holding that trauma in their bodies, in their eyes.
There are countless ways that this could be applied, but the root of the matter is that our emotions govern a lot of things in your life – including how our bodies function.
There are a number of excellent resources out there on on how to overcome limiting beliefs, but let me leave you with this.
You do not need to be a slave to your emotions. In society today (especially the more educated you are) it’s looked down upon to show and axpress our emotions. Almost like it’s a shame to have them.
This results, particualry in the Western world, in one of the most overstressed societies in history. And this purly because our bodies are holding onto all of the these negative emotions and limiting beliefs.
Don’t leave your emotions pent up. Learn how to express them in healthy ways, and you’ll have just taken a giant leap into achieving things in your life you never thought could be possible.
