How the Power of 10 Can Improve Your Vision

eyesight-power-of-10One of the easiest things you can do to help relax your eyes is to let them rest.

Of course that’s easier said then done – particularly these days when so many of use spend so many hours in front of a computer screen, busy like crazy.

Of course an easy way to relax your eyes, is to take a break, and pull out your pinhole glasses. This allows the lens of your eyes to relax, ultimately giving the muscles a chance to get stronger.

You can wear them for a few minutes to relax or you can  continue working while wearing them. You’ll be enjoying their benefits regardless of what you’re doing while wearing them.

But what do you do if you find yourself in a situation where you don’t have your pinhole glasses? Your eyes are feeling stressed, you’re feeling tired and you don’t have the tool you need to relax your eyesight.

Well, I have a small, easy tactic that you can do to make sure that you’ll relax your eyes and give them the break they deserve.

Improve Your Vision By Setting a Timer

Notice that the lens muscle is stretched.

When you look at a computer your eyes are in a state of stress because the muscle in the lens needs to stretch in order to keep whatever you’re looking at in focus.

This is not the natural state your eye should be in. When it’s in this state for a long period of time, tension and stress build up and eventually the muscles tightens – which causes your vision to worsen.

But if you would periodically give your eyes a break, it would do wonders for your vision long-term.

All you need to do is simply look at something far away for a few seconds.

It’s the 10-10-10 run.

Every 10 minutes, look up at something more than 10 minutes away for 10 seconds.

What this does is give the muscles in your eyes a chance to relax and helps keep them from tensing up.

All you need to do is set a timer while you work. When it goes off after 10 minutes, take 10 seconds to look at something far away.

Doing this will doing wonders for your vision.

Cheers!

Gavin
