“Why Do My Eyes Hurt When I Get a New Glasses Prescription?”

You know the feeling.

You’ve gone to the eye doctor, sat in the uncomfortable chair. told him which was clearer – A or B, and he’s figured out your prescription.

A few days or hours later, you return to pick up your new pair of glasses.

But when you put them on, you feel weird. Things don’t seem to be as close as they had before. You’re feeling slightly unbalanced, almost like your on a ship rocking at sea.

You tell the eye doctor this. “Maybe this is the wrong prescription?” You ask. After all, how is it possible to accurately determine someone visual acuity by asking a series of “Which is clearer, A or B” questions?

The doctor looks you straight in the eye and says, “Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it.”

When we don’t listen to our bodies…

This is another great example of the medical industry telling us to completely ignore what our bodies are trying to tell us.

My wife and I have an older friend in her 60’s, a very talented writer who spends about 8 hours a day in her home office writing.

About a year ago, she began to have these excruciating headaches, to the point that they were terrified that she might have cancer.

She went to the doctor, who confirmed that she did not have cancer, but for the life of him, couldn’t figure out why she was having this pain.

The final diagnosis was: take painkillers for the rest of your life, because we can’t figure out what’s causing this pain.

Fast forward to this past April, her husband walks in one day and notices that the chair she’s sitting in is really not supporting her back.

He goes and buys her a proper office chair, as well as an extra pad to support her back.

Within 3 days her pain has completely disappeared.

What does this tell you?

Our Medical System is Flawed

I’ll tell you what I think. Our medical system is extremely flawed.

It doesn’t take our own internal health indicators into account and even tells us to distrust them.

Not only that, the medical system has programmed us to seek out painkillers instead of finding and solving the real problem we’re having pain. People don’t even consider there might be another option – they willingly accept the doctor’s suggestion of taking a drug.

Our friend went to 3 doctors. Not one of them asked her questions about her lifestyle and if she might be doing anything to cause this pain.

They treated her problem like it was an isolated case.

Back our scenario with the glasses. Your eyes are telling you “Yes! There’s something wrong! We don’t like this.”

Besides the fact that they may not even be the correct prescription for you, your doctor is actually training you to not trust your body.

The best option would be to make sure you don’t need to get a stronger prescription ever again.

Pinhole glasses are a great way to relax and strengthen the muscles in your eyes, and for faster more quicker results you can choose an eye exercise program like Rebuild Your Vision.

You don’t have to live with pain or being uncomfortable. Listen to your body. It knows much more about what’s going on inside then the doctors do!

Disclaimer: I just want to make it clear that I fully believe our medical system is excellent when it comes to trauma medicine. Where they fall short is in illness and preventative medicine. I just want to make it clear that if you do require medical attention please let the doctors treat you.
